About

Aloha

Aloha! My name is Alyssa Rodrigues. I am a local artist, designer, and photographer born and raised on the island of Oʻahu. Currently, I reside on the Moku O Keawe (Hawaiʻi Island). With a vast array of marine life here in Hawaiʻi, I have grown a deep passion to capture and create art connected to our home.

Rooted in a deep connection to Hawaiʻi and the natural world, my mission is to inspire appreciation for the ocean and environment through art. Growing up in Hawaiʻi, mindfullness and connectionn nature were integral to my life, shaping my values and igniting a passion to take care of the spaces that take care of us.

As a photographer and artist, my work draws from my upbringing, experiences in environmental science, and lifelong relationship with the ocean. Each piece I create is full of gratitude, inspired by the beauty, culture, and community of my home.

The ocean holds a profound place in my life. Following my father’s passion for the sea, his love has stayed with me even after his passing. Fishing, free diving, and spearfishing are not just traditions but expressions of a bond that continues to shape my art and my purpose.

Through my work, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of these spaces and protecting our oceans, encouraging others to foster their own connection with the natural world.

Our actions affect our environment heavily and have the power to affect the future. Today the reefs look very different than it did when I was a child and it made me realize that in order to preserve what we have for future generations to enjoy, it starts with us here and now. I hope to be able to give back to my home in a way that creates a positive mindset for environmental stewardship and preservation of our natural resources.

I am always looking to grow as an artist and to broaden my horizons. To see more what is possible in the natural world. Documenting life’s beautiful moments will always hold a space in my heart. I have had the pleasure of creating and collaborating with many different community and nature based outlets such as Free Dive Safe Hawaii, Hana Hou Magazine, Ocean Culture Life, Ke Ola, and Spearing Magazine. Through art I look to bring awareness and movement to environmental change.

Lōʻihi

Lōʻihi: meaning length or distance—a reminder that the most meaningful journeys are the ones that unfold over time.

Rooted in Hawaiʻi and Native Hawaiian owned, Lōʻihi is an ocean-connected art and apparel brand shaped by a lifelong relationship to the ocean. Through original artwork and thoughtful design, we honor the places, wildlife, and moments that remind us we are part of something much greater than ourselves.

We believe that connection creates appreciation, appreciation inspires responsibility, and that small, intentional choices can create lasting ripples. As our journey continues, we remain committed to creating with purpose, living with intention, and honoring the places that continue to shape us.
