"Necessary"

This black and white image captures the beautiful texture of a baby shark’s skin, which is made up of dermal denticles—tiny, tooth-like scales that give sharks their rough texture. These scales help reduce drag while swimming, allowing them to glide effortlessly through the water.

While diving, we encountered a school of baby sharks, each about the size of my dive fins (3-4 feet long). As one swam beneath me, I was fortunate enough to catch the light rays from the ocean floor, creating a beautiful reflection around the shark.
